About 6 on THIRTEENTH:
6 on THIRTEENTH was conceived over a cheerful Christmas breakfast in 2010 between members of the Counihan family: namely Bev, Matt and Claire. Bev and Claire had originally spotted this feisty brand of handbags (Kathy van Zeeland) whilst visiting New York.
They both bought into the wacky and off the wall designs and decided that these were must-have items. Kathy (van Zeeland) was adopted and welcomed into the Parkhurst abode. This then led way to discussions about opening up our own home-based store that would exclusively stock Kathy van Zeeland.
Mother and son team – Bev and Matt got to it and agreed that the space to be overhauled would be the off street garage. Cleverly designed they employed the skills of the highly talented young designer Niall Griffin.
Niall’s experience in designing on the sniff of an oil rag and creating magic is quite evident, as he is known for designing sets for stage and film. Kathy being the diva she is - they decided that, without doubt, she deserved a set of her own. The result two months later – a home in which Kathy can chill and hang out with her potential “new owners”.
Kathy is described as fun, fashionable, flirty and functional. She is most up to date and a real trendsetter – meaning there are regular seasonal changes and stock is always cutting edge and fresh.
6 0n THIRTEENTH is no ordinary store. It’s an experience.
Located off Parkhurst’s main strip you will find us at No. 6 13th Street, Parkhurst, Johannesburg. Your hosts Bev and Matt will greet you with a glass of bubbly or a freshly brewed cappuccino whilst you chat and mingle with your new best friend to be – Kathy.
Kathy’s personality is simply infectious – a Kathy van Zeeland handbag is a must have, in fact one is never enough. There are many designs ensuring that Kathy compliments your every mood and style. What more could a woman possibly want?
You can visit us at 6 On THIRTEENTH between 10.30am and 2.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays or call to make an appointment and we will be there to introduce you personally to Kathy.
