Week two in Blairgowrie with Piranha

Our high crime report last week has been supported with the report of nearly 100 Reservist Officers being called up in the Northern Suburbs to combat the high incidents of Trio Crimes, IE; House Robbery, Business Robbery and Hi-Jacking. This is an unprecedented call up for three types of criminal acts and shows that we have a serious crime wave on our hands.

The second week in Blairgowrie has proved to be just as busy as the week before with another 28 Members singing up for pro-active support and 31 persons signing up for full Membership. The Piranha Vehicles had many proactive incidents and these are listed hereunder.

Ø Vehicles checked for suspicious activity = 97
Ø Arrests with SAPS = 6
Ø Vagrants displaced or moved from parks = 48
Ø Arrests by Piranha for assault etc = 4
Ø Arrest for possession of House Breaking implements = 1
Ø Suspicious Pedestrians checked = 27
Ø Lost Dogs returned to Owners = 2
Ø Car Theft attended to = 2 (Non Clients)
Ø Reconnaissance carried out = 16
Ø Medical Cases attended to = 3
Ø Fires extinguished in public spaces = 11 (Much reduced incidents of fires)
Ø Piranha Trauma Councillor incidents attended = 2 (incidents at Non Clients)
Ø Security Guards posted for functions = 3
Ø Security Guards posted for Incidents = 2 (Both non Clients)
Ø Domestic Violence attended by Piranha and resolved = 1
Ø Domestic Violence attended by Piranha and controlled until SAPS attended = 2
Ø Disturbances attended by Piranha and resolved = 4
Ø Motor Vehicle Accidents attended = 1
Ø A wanted vehicle for crimes in the Honeydew area was identified and pursued until in Sandton area whereupon the chase became life threatening to other road users and instructions were given to cancel. The information was given to The Honeydew Detectives to follow up the matter.
