Traffic light corner Retail Avenue and Kent Avenue Randburg

Please be so kind as to supply a name and e-mail address of anyone in the traffic/maintenance department with whom i could lodge a complaint about the light on this corner - it has been out for months, and more and more people ignore it and speed through it at an alarming rate.

Kind regards,
Maree: reception@adrs.co.za

Re: Traffic light corner Retail Avenue and Kent Avenue Randburg

With regards to this query - the property that was demolished took with it the power to the traffic signal controller.

New power line was installed a few weeks ago along with a new controller to manage the signals.

I have been asking for the commissioning of the signals for sometime as the Randburg CID keeps me updated.

Again now I have asked and I'm sure they will be working this week. Could you keep me updated please if they are not on by Wednesday?

Thank you for your prompt response

Good morning David,

Thank you for your prompt response to my query.

The light has been re commissioned, thank goodness! We take our lives in our hands trying to get out of our office gate.

Kind regards,

Maree Giles

Speed trap needed

Hi David,
I came across this message by accident but I think it’s the right place to start. I don’t know who my ward councilor is or where to contact them, I was actually searching for a contact email for the Metro Policy or someone who could assist.

I live on Bram Fisher Drive, between George and Conrad. I want to know how can I 'apply' for a permanent camera on that road.

This road has a lot of pedestrians due to all the complexes and schools in the area. Furthermore, since the new shopping centre has opened, we also see more people walking to the shops. It’s a very busy road and people drive very fast there, a definite risk to all the pedestrians. We also have the issue of the taxis and busses on the road.

The corner of George and Bram Fisher is an accident waiting to happen. It was a mistake to have an entrance to that shopping centre on that corner, right at the traffic light, with a bus / taxi stop and all the pedestrians???

Who can assist in looking at the issues for us? I think if we have a permanent speed camera there, it will be a good start at least.
Thanking you in advance,

Regards,
Francois

Re: Traffic turning light corner Oak and Republic

This is the first time this matter has been reported to me as an escalation.
I have given the information to the JRA for action.

Thanks
