BRAC Appeal to Residents!

Dear Residents,

It feels as if we were just welcoming in the New Year and all of a sudden we are nearly halfway through.

This is an urgent appeal to everyone on behalf of the Linden SAPS to please take support the Child Protection Project. We are desperately in need of wax and pencil crayons for the art competition and these will be donated to orphanages after the event. If you can either sponsor a prize or have small gifts as hand outs these would be greatly appreciated.

THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY – THIS HAPPENS ON A HOURLY BASIS.

NO EXCUSE FOR CHILD ABUSE – CHILD PROTECTION WEEK 25/05/2009 TO 01/06/2009.

SAPS Linden will be undertaking a project addressed at Child Abuse. The theme will be "Child Protection". The project has been initiated by the South African Police Service Nation wide addressing child protection.

This project will take the form of an Art competition and would target schools in the Linden Precinct. The target group is children under the age of 18 years and will include nurser, pre-primary, primary and high schools.

There will be an AWARENESS CAMPAIGN on Saturday the 30th May, 2009 at The Bright Water Commons from 10:00 a.m. followed by a prize giving in the various categories. This will be a family day, with entertainment and activities for our children, interacting with the Linden SAPS members and focusing on the importance of the fact that "THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR CHILD ABUSE".
