Message from Blairgowrie Community Association

Monday 22 March is a Public Holiday. If you are going to use the opportunity of the 1st long weekend to go away, enjoy your mini break. Ensure you travel safely, that your home is left secure and that your pets are taken care of.

For those staying behind, ensure that you are safe too! Criminals are getting more and more brazen – I recently notified you of a break in that occurred in Henglicon mid day on Saturday. Yesterday a family in Barkston Drive had their security gate lifted and their garage broken in to – this happened during 3 and 4pm yesterday, with their children on the premises!

Herewith a few notifications for next week, just in case you missed any:
1. Pikitup – some valuable info
2. Water shutdown – (Thanks again for the ‘heads up,’ David Potter) selected streets – 23, 24 & 25 March
3. DA Public meeting – City in Crises – 24 March

Kind Regards

Linus Muller

Blairgowrie roads

I want to bring to your attention the shocking state of the roads in Blairgowrie.

Two streets in particular, namely Blairgowrie Drive and Melia Rd are in a dire state.

All the roads in Blairgowire need to be re-tarred. I am sure that they were last tarred in the 1960's.

The roads are cracked with potholes galore. None of the roads have white lines painted in the middle. Is this legal? One can see the remnants of painted lines on a few roads, but one has to look hard to see them as they are so faint.

But the roads will have to be re-tarred first because they are pale grey in colour, and, if white lines are painted on such a pale surface, they will not show up.

I see that other suburbs, notably those in Sandton, have roads that are neat and well-maintained.

Please urgently repair and re-tar the streets of Blairgowrie.
