St Stithians College unveiled big plans for the FIFA 2010 Football World Cup at the college grounds in Randburg on May 18, 2010. The event saw the launch of the FIFA-licensed Indawo Commercial Public Viewing Area, a public and corporate hospitality village which will host top South African musical talent and give football fans the opportunity to watch the biggest games of the tournament in a safe and festive atmosphere.

The Indawo (“The Place”) Commercial Public Viewing Area at St Stithians is the first of its kind to be launched in South Africa. The corporate and public hospitality area will give fans the chance to enjoy 17 World Cup matches on a massive screen, with three levels of top-class hospitality.

Complementing the feast of football will be some of South Africa’s top musical acts, including Goldfish, The Parlotones, Mafikizolo, Freshlyground, Jozi, Jamali, Taxi Violence, Flash Republic, 340ml, Zebra & Giraffe, TKZee, Watershed, Cassette, HHP, DJ Fresh and a few more surprises! Indawo kicks off on June 11 with big-screen viewing of the South Africa vs Mexico and Uruguay vs France matches, with entertainment provided by Goldfish, HHP and DJ Fresh.

Warwick Hospitality spokesperson Gareth Nel says that St Stithians College is the ideal location to host this football and entertainment extravaganza as it boasts easy access and ample secure parking. “Indawo will be an experience quite unlike anything South Africa has seen before, with non-stop football and musical entertainment, extensive luxury marquees, top-class catering and secure childrens’ entertainment areas,” he/she says. “Indawo is set to be the go-to venue for fans eager to see the best World Cup action and enjoy top-end hospitality.”
