British comic Eddy Brimson at Parker’s

Parker’s Comedy & Jive, Africa’s only dedicated stand-up comedy club, based at Montecasino in northern Johannesburg, hosts a stellar lineup of local and international stand-up comedians, three nights a week in April see Eddy Brimson (April 22-24, 29-30 and May 1).

Eddy Brimson is one of the UK circuit’s most in-demand headline acts. He has performed at the Altitude Festival in the French Alps in 2008 and the Sydney Cracker Festival in Australia and taken his comedy to such far flung-places as Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain. He once even played a gig naked.

Most people get into stand-up in order to hack out a career in TV but, as ever, Eddy did things the other way around. Before turning to stand-up Eddy worked as a presenter on the Bravo TV show The Basement, covering topics ranging from the British Lawn Mower Grand Prix to a live Hair Transplant!

Parker’s Comedy & Jive is situated near the cinemas at Montecasino at Shop 24, next to the Boogaloos Skate Park and across from Sweets from Heaven.
