Oyster, Wine and Food Festival
25 000 Fresh succulent oysters must be eaten at Gauteng's largest oyster festival! The annual Oyster, Wine and Food Festival, a vibrant celebration of food, will take place at The Brightwater Commons on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd May.
Awaiting visitors at the event will be 25 000 fresh juicy oysters, an array fine wines, and various mouthwatering oyster dishes. Food lovers can also sample a variety of scrumptious treats ranging from gourmet cheeses and olives all the way to nougat and confectionery. The festival will open from 11am daily.
Now in its 6th successful year of running, this event has grown to become the largest oyster festival in Gauteng. This year's event will be bigger than those held in previous years.
There'll be more oyster stations to prevent long queues, and a greater number of participating wine estates offering wine lovers the latest vintages, Method cap Classiques and interesting blends.
A new introduction to this year's event will be a champagne garden – situated adjacent to the centre's promotions court, where the wines and foods will be exhibited.
This area will be a place where visitors can just relax, socialize, savour their oysters and sip bubbly. There will also be a bar area in a large marquee on the grassy commons where one can enjoy various beers.
Two live musical performances will add to the festive ambiance. Whilst multi-talented contemporary artist Garth Taylor will entertain visitors on the Sunday; lovers of jazz and classical can enjoy the lively sounds of dynamic sax and violin duo Intrique on the Saturday.
Entry into the festival will be FREE, but there will be a nominal fee charged for the sampling of various oyster dishes.
The Oyster, Wine & Food Festival will be presented by The Brightwater Commons in conjunction with Full Volume Promotions and Kettle Kings Outdoor Cuisine with all catering done by the Legend Hospitality School.
